Hello,
I am using the index. The comma between the pagenumbers is red, instead of black. I cannot find anything in the styling of the index that explains it. I use the same style of index in other books, without this problem. I can I get black comma's?

I know what the problem is - my friend had a similar problem recently with something else.

Hi @Rene tbd,
Thank you for reaching out! I understand how frustrating it can be when something as specific as the comma color in your index isn't behaving as expected.
To help you further, could you please let me know the version of InDesign you’re using and the operating system?
In the meantime, one thing you might want to check is whether there is an override or a character style applied specifically to the commas. Even though it’s not evident in the index style, it's possible that a manual override or a different character style is being applied.
Let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance!
Thank you,
Abhishek Rao

Hello Abhishek,
I use IIndd 19.5, and Windows 10. I have looked at all styles, including the styles the index is derived from. Comma's in paragraph text are ok. I am not using Grep styles and other files with the same index settings are ok.

Hello Robert,
If I select the comma than the the index style is visible. This is based on the body style. In both cases the character colour is black. In the screenshot you see how this looks. I hope you can do something with it.

I was asking about Pallets - not ParaStyle definition - to see info about potential overrides - as mentioned by @Abhishek Rao.
Any chance you can share your file - or even just this one TextFrame - can be on priv.
Cheers

Here is a more detailed info about the structure of your text:
As you can see - CARRIAGE_RETURN also has this CharStyle applied - and it's 8pt - not 10pt as the rest of the text.

As @Robert at ID-Tasker suspected, there is a chaeacter style applied to the comma.

It was @Abhishek Rao who suggested "you might want to check is whether there is an override or a character style applied specifically to the commas".

Hello jmlevy and Robert,
This is next level for me! I indeed use Term L as a style and the charactor should be orange. I don't see how a comma in a body style (the index) is related to the term L style, which I need the way it is. A comma in a body style is black as it should be, the is no relation with term L in this case. If I change Term L than the comma is black, but I also lost the style Term L with the orange colour. How is the comma in one style related to Term L (the index) and in another style (the body) to the body style where the character is black.
On forehand thanks for this. I will get there!

It looks like somehow commas in the Index are styled with this "Term L" CharStyle.
How have you built this Index? Manually?
If you don't have any other CharStyles in the Index Story - you can select whole Index Story - and just apply "[None]" CharStyle - but, just in case, do it on a copy of your document.
