We have been asked to try to make an interacive document that has a form that when filled out will connect with Marketo and alert an internal person to contact the person who filled out the form.
Here is the senerio:
We use Indesign to create an interactive document that will contain a form that can be filled out. After the user fills out the form it will then connect to Marketo and add the contact information to Marketo and thus alert a sales person to contact them.
I can't seem to find a solution for this, is it even possible?
It's normal for a form to have a "submit" action that connects to a secure web server. This runs a "script" (CGI, ASP, PHP, ohther...) and sure that can connect to any service the programmer can connect to. (NB only a job for an experienced specialist). Don't expect to be able to do this without the programming part, though...
Whether it's possible then, depends on the type of interactive document and whether it can submit a form. PDF forms are NOT recommended, at least not by me.
I would not even consider a PDF for this. Create a proper form on your website for this. While I have no experience with Marketo, I would bet there are some very easy ways to integrate something like that.
