So using the template attached below I essentially have to split the boxes into two big triangles and I keep looking up ways to do it and I cannot figure it out. I really appreciate any help from any of you guys, Thank you so much!

InDesign doesn't support this layout with any native or integral features. (I know some apps do, but ID doesn't.)
You will have to either create two triangular text frames with appropriate borders and shading and so forth, and merge/align them, or use a graphic diagonal and triangular text frames (with invisible edges) to position the content.

Well... when you draw a diagonal line across a rectangle, you end up with two shapes called "triangles." 😄
And that may be enough if the need is for two visual triangles with the same color and stroke. But if different fill and/or stroke colors etc. are needed, you need at least one triangle overlaying a rectangle, if not two triangles faced off to form the rectangle. From there, there are several combinations of elements depending on whether the graphic and text frame elements are separate or combined.
Let's see, these would work with same background/strokes —
And these would allow two differently colored (and stroked) triangular halves of a rectangle —
Etc. (Was I that unclear?)

I ass/u/me the OP wants to do the diagonal split thing that Excel tables do with a click. While that's not uncommon in things like reports and marketing layouts, I am pretty sure it can only be done as a manual operation in ID, with no inherent features to streamline any part of it.

Like any other manual operation - easily scriptable.

I was going to caveat my comment. 🙂
You could automate creation of the elements, but I think making it in any way... responsive or adaptable would be quite the challenge. I don't think anything short of a full plug-in would be more than a sort of streamlined assist.

As you seem to understand what the op seems to get, and according on the screenshot he posted, could you post your own screenshot?

One magenta rectangle, one yellow triangle, two triangular text frames —
And, just 'cuz, two triangular text frames alone —
