How to Easily Rotate Color Palettes in InDesign for Newsletters

Community Beginner ,

I publish a weekly 4-page newsletter. The information changes, but the look is pretty much the same, so I wanted to spice it up by developing several different color palettes (each with its own swatches), and then applying them on a rotating basis. Is there an easy way of assigning those swatches, without spending time deleting colors and replacing them each time?

I failed to mention that this is in InDesign.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

@Flawless_creation16B8

You can either load swatches from another INDD document - or use Book and "style source document" for styles and swatches to be used:

You can create multiple "style sources" in the same book and just switch between them with a few simple clicks.

To add to @Robert at ID-Tasker 's suggestion (and narrowing it down somewhat).

  1. Create your theme swatches each in a blank document--make SURE your swatches have identical names. For example, Heading1 is a different color in each theme document.
  2. Create a book with the theme documents (you can add all of them in one book).
  3. Each week, add your newsletter to the book.
  4. Make sure your desired theme document is selected as the source.
  5. Select ONLY your newsletter in the book.
  6. Select Synchronize Selected Documents from the book menu.
