How to group Bookmarks quickly?

Why is it not possible to select multiple bookmarks and drag-and-drop them over another bookmark to create a bookmark folder containing the selected ones? 

I would expect to right click on selected ones and "make parent bookmark from selection", or at least drag-and-drop. 

Right now I can only drag them one by one ... so tedious (and updating a TOC messes everything up again!)

Any better way to control this and not make a TOC update throw everything out of the window?

Hi Inélsòre,

a TOC would follow a different rule with what bookmark is nested to what bookmark.

So it messes up your custom nesting order every time you update the TOC.

Dragging bookmarks around can be done easily with Acrobat Pro DC.

There you can select more than one bookmark ( also doable in InDesign ) and move the selection in nested position ( not doable in InDesign ).

When you go to the ToC dialog box, take note of the Level of the entry. You cannot see it until you show More of the dialog box. Level 2 nests under level 1. Level 3 nests under level 2, and so on.

Don't forget to also turn on the option at the lower part of the dialog box to "Show PDF Bookmarks". They will be nested.

Of course, this all depends on you using paragraph styles and not making custom Bookmarks from the Bookmarks panel. And it is a good idea to save a named ToC style preset, too.
