How to keep changes in indesign in linked word file

I linked my word file (that has a lot of paragraph styles assigned) to a indesign file to format it.

I linked all styles in word to paragraph styles in indesign so that's all fixed.

However, I still want to change some things in the indesign file, some pages in between, some nice images, layout etc. But when I change things in my word file and update the linked file, all my indesign formatting removes. Is it possible to keep the indesign changes when you update the linked word file? So I can still adjust both the word file and the indesign file without losing something.

Thanks!

Wordsflow from em Software will allow you to do that. You'll have to pay for it but if you do a lot of this it's worth every dime. WordsFlow » Em Software
