Good Morning All,
Can I overtype existing text without having to select it first with the cursor? In MS Word I just hit the Insert Key to put the text tool in overtype mode, but that does not work in InDesign. I am looking for a similar method. Is there one?
WORD is a text editor - so 99% of time you're in the "text mode" by default.
In InDesign you need to select object first to do something with it.
You can always hit T to switch into "text mode" - no idea how it will behave if your current selection is a TextFrame - can't check it right now.
