How to place text in different frames on page

Newbie question I am trying to place text in seperate frames as on screenshot. For some reason the text cursor goes back to the photo frame each time. 

What am I doing wrong?

It's likely the text frames are not in the front.

You can move objects to front or back by selecting them

Object>Arrange
>Bring to Front

>Bring Forward

>Send Backward

>Send to Back

Make sure your text frames are 

>Bring to Front
