How to prevent InDesing from erasing preceding white space when removing words from a line of text?

When removing one or more words from a line, the preceding white space is somehow swallowed up.

Example: when I remove ‘words’ from the previous line, I end up with:

‘When removingfrom a paragraph ...’

In previous versions the white space between ‘removing’ and ‘from’ was retained.

Is there any setting I should check to keep the white space?

That’s it! The funny thing is, that the box was checked. But after uncheking it and checking it again, the function seems to work as it should. Many thanks!
