Never mind figured it out.

Did you do this?

[1] Select frame that has the contents.

[2] Object > Select > Contents

with e.g. keyboard shortcut Shift + Esc

[3] Cut the selection

[4] Paste in Place the contents of the clipboard

Or did you drag the selected contents out of the frame using the Layers panel?
