How was this teal line added underneath this text box and how can I change its color?

When I move the text box the line stays with it—how was this created?

It is most likely a border added with Object Style settings. Open the style that's highlighted when you have the frame selected, and the options should be there to examine and change.

I can't seem to find it in Object Styles, is there anything else it could be?

My bad — I was thinking borders could be applied selectively and it looks as if that's not true for frames.

Does the line show if you go to Preview mode?

yes—here is what it looks like when I zoom all the way in at the bottom of the text box

I am baffled. I can't duplicate this and can't think of a way to.

Wait, is there an effect applied? Is it possible a kooky drop shadow?

Nope, doesn't look like any effect is applied to the text box either. I'm just as baffled!

figured it out! turns out it's a Paragraph Rule (Rule Below)

Ah, didn't think to have you drag out the box height. Assumed from your description it was part of the frame. Fun! 🙂
