Hyperlinks make InDesign crash

Community Beginner ,

Hello everyone,

I have an issue with one publication I am currently working on. Whenever I try to edit some of the hyperlinks (changing/adding the URLs, changing character styles in the 'Edit Hyperlink' window), my InDesign crashes.

I have already tried saving the file as .idml & updating InDesign to the latest version, but nothing helps.

I don't know if it changes anything, but the text was originally imported from a Word file and some hyperlinks got imported as empty (with no URLs), despite them seemingly working in Word file itself.

Does anyone know what the issue might be?

Can you create a new document with the same page size/margins etc.

Then try using the Move function to move the pages to the new document.

Another solution which may work is to restore you preferences and caches on your InDesign application. Here's how:

Did you try editing this file on another machine? Maybe the fault is with the installation of InDesign on the current machine.
