hyphenation problems in justified text?

I’m experiencing frequent hyphenation issues when using justified text in Adobe InDesign. Words are breaking too often, which makes paragraphs look uneven and hard to read. I’ve tried adjusting basic hyphenation settings, but the problem persists. Are you applying the hyphenation with Paragraph styles or with overrides?

Hi @jameswilly2 , What are your Justification settings? You can use Hyphenation setting to limit the number of hyphens, but the Justification settings handle your letter and word spacing preferences. Here’s the default vs. a custom setting with limited hyphens:
