I can't see open Indesign CC files - URGENT

Community Beginner ,

Yesterday everything was fine. Today I opened indesign (CC 2017) and opened a file to work on and I can't see the file. Indesign says it is open, the panels etc are there but I can't see the file. I went to Creative Cloud and it said I had updates pending, so I updated hoping that might fix it (so I now have CC 2018) but the problem remains. I have restarted my Mac several times. I have tried unplugging my laptop from big monitor but the problem remains. I have tried opening other InDesign files and have the same problem all of them.

Please help as I urgently need to do some work and can't do anything at the moment as I can't see my file.

Thanks in advance!

Goood Lord... 2 days of searching, many re-starts, re-installs, and one click on application frame solves it... lost for words...

Unchecking the Application Frame worked for me. Thank you so so much!
But the downside is that you can't dock your panel, which might be irritating for some, I'm definitely one of them.

I tried holding Shift + Ctrl + Opt + Cmd. Didn't work
I tried reinstalling Indesign. Didn't work either :(((

Is there any other way to fix this issue?

Hi Felluat

This is such a long and meandering thread, it might be best to start a new one. Please describe your issue and include version and system information.

Are there any other solutions to this? I'm having the same issue, tried all the suggestions and nothing is working...

You state "This" – It would help if you would give details of your InDesign version and OS and amount of RAM, amount of spare hard disk capacity and details of the issue you are having.
