I can't ungroup my text in InDesign

Hello

I want to move and change the colours of the letters in a text freely but I can't ungroup it.

What I want to do but it does't work : Type -> Create Outlines , ->  Objects -> Ungroup

I was it on this tutorial ( from 5:00): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLGgNyvODxE

Can somebody please help me, I tried everything.

After you release the compound path, you may have to fix any counters/bowls. The easiest way is to select the letter paths (one letter at a time) is to use the Pathfinder. 

 

Another option is to use the Direct Selection tool and select one letter at a time.

As there are a number of disadvantages to outlined fonts, depending on other factors, you might consider resetting the text so that it's not outlined.
