I have a feeling that this is a nasty font-activation bug

Hello there, Adobe Fonts Community. I have no idea who posts here, but I'm hoping for some of you to respond, because I have what I think is a bug report with no really good way to file it.

I am a frequent user of Adobe Fonts with InDesign. My clients all have Creative Cloud subscriptions. However, I have a recurring problem with font activations in large font families, and it's starting to spread to my clients. The two families where it's happening regularly are Myriad Pro (but just the Semicondensed faces) and Proxima Nova (either the Condensed or Extra Condensed faces, but only one or the other, never both at the same time). I can have them activated in Adobe Fonts, but they won't show up in InDesign until I perform some magical combination of:

Shutting InDesign down

Logging out of Creative Cloud

Maybe restarting the computer

Maybe clearing Windows font caches

Logging back into CC

Clearing InDesign prefs

So, this has been bugging me for months now, maybe a year? And the problem just Keeps Coming Back. I reset everything four or five times, and eventually I can get my install and my account into a state where Proxima Nova and its Condensed and Extra Condensed variants are easily selectable and usable. Then Something Happens (???) after a period of weeks, or hours, and if I click on Proxima Nova Extra Condensed Bold, my selection flips back to Proxima Nova Bold, or something along those lines. This sends me back into the troubleshooting loop described above.

Now, that's bad enough. However, my client's client just sent us a screenshot of a form I just finished formatting, and Myriad Pro Semicondensed have fallen out on their side only. I open the INDD, and my install of Indy finds all the fonts. They open it up, and it declares that "Myriad Pro Whatever Semicondensed" is missing, and that it can't be found on Adobe Fonts.

So, that's a problem. And I can tell 'em all the troubleshooting steps that we can perform, including linking them to standard troubleshooting documents but the well is now poisoned, they will have consistent font drops and errors saying that Myriad isn't on Adobe Fonts, and they're blaming me for sending them a document that ruined their ability to use Myriad or Proxima Nova or whatever.

These kinds of bug are hard to document, and the Adobe Fonts Uservoice seems to be pretty low-traffic. I'm hoping that I'm not the only person experiencing this issue, so that some of you can sound off here, and we can go as a group with our bug in hand to the Adobe Fonts Uservoice, and maybe get a little bit more traction than we would otherwise.

Just a guess / shot-in-the-dark:

Could this be an issue with the difference in how Windows and Mac handle font styles with some fonts?
