I saved my file i have been working on for the past few days and closed InDesign. My wifi turned off shortly and when trying to open it later it was gone. I then looked up how i can get to the recovery files and did everything according to the instructions. But when trying to open the latest save file it doesnt work and shows me an unexpected error. I saved many times and everything went how it should, but now everything is gone. I am really upset and don't know what to do.

Recovering InDesign projects from the internal save files is a very hit-or-miss thing — a real "hail mary" attempt when everything else has failed. It either works (to a degree) or, mostly, doesn't.

Is your saved file simply on a cloud or remote location that you will be able to reach when you can reconnect? I can't think of any other reason losing connectivity would affect a file.

My wifi turned off shortly

Hi @Wilina , Also, InDesign doesn’t have a cloud format—you have to save to your local area network. Were you saving to a external drive or another computer/server on your LAN network that may have been disconected when your WiFi was turned off?
