The IDML File Conversion Service has been coming up with an error about being temporarily unavailable for me for a couple weeks now, file gets to 33% then fails. Trying to open a 2024 InDesign file in 2023

I just test this with one of my files (save as IDML from ID 2024 and open in ID 2023) and the service converted it immediately.

Does this happen in every file you try or just one?

Any file I try gets the same result, jumps to 33% then fails.

You could also restore your preferences and caches. Here's how:

Using a M2 MacBook Pro with OS Venture 13.6.1 and inDesign 18.4.

Updates are controlled by IT team and I'm not able to either install 2024 or roll back to a previous version

You should tell your IT team that other people are having no problem doing the conversion. If you can't do further investigation and they won't, you may be stuck.

This could even be a firewall thing. Check out the following article that lists the domains that need to be whitelisted for different Adobe services.

https://helpx.adobe.com/in/enterprise/kb/network-endpoints.html

You can diagnose if this is a firewall issue by trying to attempt the conversion using a different network/computer.
