I have this problem -  unexpected frame-resizing behavior. It resizes proportionally by default and I can't change it so I can resize as needed. And no, rebooting is not the issue here.

Hi @themarytodd:

This is a different question than the one posed on the thread you posted to, so I moved it to a new thread for you.

Let's start with the basics:

  • What version of InDesign (exactly, not "the latest") version are you using?
  • What operating system are you using?
  • When did this start happening? Did it follow an InDesign or OS upgrade?

Hi Mary,

look into the frame fitting options when your document is open and nothing is selected.

Please post a screenshot also showing the Object Styles panel like I do here with my German InDesign:

Thanks,

To expand on others' questions and to clarify, how are you resizing the frame exactly, and what is it's content? Presumably an image?

In addition to all the other questions:

  • are you scaling (Control panel) or dragging a resize handle with the Selection tool?
  • does it happen in a new document?
  • is the frame anchored?

You can answer in one post. We will all see it.
