Hello everyone, every time I insert an image into in design, I am unable to bring it back or front or to send it forwards or backwards. Regardless of the image type, and whether I drag it in, or insert it into a frame, I am unable to edit it in that regard. I have uninstalled and installed in design again and it's still not working. Kindly, please advise

You probably checked this, but do you have extra layers in your document and you are working on the top most layer?

Thank you for your prompt response 😊

I’m just trying to show the page number that I have added to the master.
And I’m unable to show it. And I’ve made sure that the correct master page
has been allocated

You can have layers on the master page as well, which respect the object hierarchy. I suggest making a new layer on the master page, call it "page number" and put your objects on that. Make sure that layer is the top layer in the layer list. Screen Shot 2023-08-07 at 4.27.52 PM.png

Each object is always placed on a layer - sending back / front works only in the layer's hierarchy.

If there are other layers with objects above your layer - they'll cover anything under.

Objects on the Masters are always at the bottom - under objects from Pages.

Thank you, but I am still facing difficulties. I made sure to make the text boxes in the parent masters on the front despite that they are still at the back.

I moved your screenshots from attachments to inline images so that we can see both at one time. Where are the page numbers? I don't see that you have added them in either image.

Please show a screenshot of your parent page with the page numbers (include the layers panel) and a body page (include the layers panel) as inline images (use the Insert Photos button on the forum reply toolbar) so that we can help.

If the issue is that you don't know how to add page numbers to a parent page, please see https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/layout-design-9.html.
