Impossible to use after last updates — Have to turn off internet connection

I don't know what's happened in recent weeks, but my CC suite has become nearly unusable since the last round of updates were installed. Particularly InDesign. Have found the only way to be able to work is to switch off my internet connection. Have performed a complete reinstall, checked for any performance issues on the computer itself, cleared a whole bunch of space on the hard drive etc, but nothing makes even the slightest difference. This is really affecting my productivity.. anyone else having this issue?

How much RAM and spare disk capacity do you have?
