InDesign 16.1 beachballing constantly on iMac Pro Catalina 10.15.7

Title says it all.

Updated to latest InDesign 16.1, and boom... it's useless.

I'm running on:

iMac Pro

32.Ghz 8 core Intel

32Gb memory

Given this mac is a monster machine, you'd expect good old InDesign to run OK, but nope.

Tried the reset prefs option and still terrible. Turned off GPU, and beachballs even longer when turned off.

I'm running out of ideas here. Any tips anyone?

TBH I'd expect it work flawlessly on a system like I have...

Cheers all

Make sure you've used the correct method for restoring preferences and caches using this link:

Adobe InDesign: Rebuilding Preferences and Cache Files ...www.rockymountaintraining.com › Adobe InDe...

I have no such problems with InDesign 16.1 and Big Sur 11.2.1 on my MacBook Pro.

Worst case, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling InDesign.
