InDesign 17.2 Bug - Placing multiple Pages

This was a painful process to figure out but the new version of indesign will not allow you to place multiple pages of a pdf onto multiple frames. I would hit ctrl+d, check yes to the import options button, select "all", and when i placed the first one onto a frame, it wouldnt let me place the rest. ive downgraded my indesign to 17.1 and it works again!

17.2.0.18 Place multi-page PDF pages: Place Gun will be unloaded after first page is placed to a frame

New bug with InDesign 17.2 that I cannot see with InDesign 17.1.

Thanks.

Also read into my comments there to get an idea for a workaround.

Hi @ottosonic,

We are sorry for the trouble. We are able to replicate the issue at our end. The product team is working on a fix. As @Laubender said, I would also request you to upvote this UserVoice (https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/44963242-17-2-0-18-plac...) if not done already.

In the meantime, you may try the following workaround suggested by @Laubender until the fix is released:

  1. Load multiple PDF pages from a multi-page PDF to the place gun.
  2. Draw out new frames with the loaded cursor to place one page after another

Regards,

Anshul Saini
