Hi all,

As of this morning Indesign 17.4 (or 17.3/.2/.1) won't launch on my Windows 10 PC. The launch window goes as far as "Initialising" and then disappears. No error is given.

I've scrubbed my fonts, uninstalled and re-installed ALL of my Adobe products but nothing seems to work.

I have installed Indesign 16.4 and it works just fine though.

Thoughts?

Thank you!

Hello

Sounds weird - there's a few things you can try.

Try resetting your preferences:
The easiest way to reset everything is to delete the InDesign preferences: as soon as InDesign starts to boot hold down Shift, Alt, Ctrl (and Apple/Cmd if working on a Macintosh). A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.
Further info and instructions here if needed:

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Hi Eugene,
Cheers for your help on this one. I tried resetting the preferences earlier to no avail but your suggestion to use the Cleaner looks to have worked a treat.
The long and the short of it is, if you're ever in Australia, I owe you a beer.
Thanks mate!
