First - can you select anything on the previous spread on the right page? Or do you have the same problem? Maybe it's MasterSpread related.
Do you have any extra layers and something is above the TextFrame with your text?
Then - can you try IDMLing - export as IDML, open and save with a new name.

There is only one layer and saving as a IDML file didn't fix the propblem. I did find a solution. I went into the Story Editor, selected and cut all the text. I then pasted in back in and was able to selct all the text in page view. Somehow when I placed the original text into the pages something went wrong. Cutting and repasting it fixed the problem. This is something Adobe should look ionto. Thank you everyone for your help.

Starting from scratch helps.
Do you still have this document? Can you share it - on priv ?

This is a pretty oddball issue and doubt very much it's going to be reproducible.

Hi David:
Are you sure there wasn't an empty frame over the right page? If it was there, it does not sound like you deleted it. You can just get the Selection tool and click on the frame and see if you can find a second frame by moving the first one out of position.

Yes, there was a hidden frame above the one with the text. I delete that extra frame and am able to select the text. I've never had this happen before and don't now how that extra frame got there. Than you for the tip.

Kind of what I've suggested in the 1st reply...

David—it happens all the time! That's why it was clear from your clip. 😊
