InDesign 19.2 keeps crashing when copying text

Hi!

I'm running on a macbook pro with Sonoma 14.3 and InDesign 19.2 keeps crashing when i copy text from one sentence to another in the same textbox. it just closes and I get a crash report. On reopen, says the file is corrupt. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, still the same result.

I have downgraded to idd 19.1 and the file will not open at all, saying to upgrade to the latest version - usually files still opened, when having the same year version, not just latest update.

Saved the file as older idml and opened idd 19.1. Seems to be working for now.

Anyone else experienced the same? What is the issue?

The one thing you have not mentioned is rebuilding cache/preferences. I would give that shot to see if it straightens things out for you.

Your problem of backwards incompatibility between 19.2 and 19.1 is most likely not related to your particular file: it's a known issue that others also reported:

i literally started getting this also..it's a mess. i am working on 2 machines with different versions of idd, as opening the idml changes the shape corners, also. so weird.

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I just tested this on InDesign 19.2 and macOS Sonoma 14.3 and it works. Can you please share a few more details like:

-The version of InDesign & OS.

-Is this happening with a specific file or multiple files?
-A sample file on which the issue can be reproduced.
