Hey, that worked!!! I deinstalled all the BETA versiones of my Adobe apps (they are the only BETA versions of apps I have at all) and now the Adobe apps start again. Thank you for your help! I would never have thought that you have to delete the BETA apps.
Kind regards
Stefan

How much RAM? What version of InDesign?
Try resetting preferences. Also, I believe the current version of Sonoma is 14.6.

Hello @SA2024,
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble opening InDesign. I hope Bob's suggestion to reset the preference for InDesign and updating the macOS helped resolve the issue.
If not, kindly provide a bit more information:
1. Have there been any recent updates or changes to your system since InDesign last worked?
2. Are you encountering any error messages when you try to open the app, or does it just hang indefinitely?
3. Is the issue happening with other Adobe applications or just InDesign? Also, is this specific to a single file or happening with a new file as well?
Your answers will help us get a clearer picture of what's going on and guide you towards a solution. Adding to this, would you mind going through the reference article: Fix crash issues when launching InDesign (https://adobe.ly/4fwbeHz)
Thank you for your patience, and we're here to help you get back up and running.
Best,

thanks for your reply.
In Design is not the only app that I can't open.
Apps I can't open : Illustrator, Photoshop, Photoshop Beta and In Design.
Apps I can open without any problem : Animate, Character Animator, Audition, After Effects, Premiere pro, Media Encoder.
So I don't get it. It's not related to my memory otherwise other app could not open.
My device is Mac Mini M1. 16GO Ram. I'm on the latest Sonoma system and all my apps are updated.
No message. I open the app and then there is the image opening and the small wheel of color looping. After the image disappear and App does not answer.
Illustrator, Photoshop, Photoshop Beta and In Design were working three days ago. And today as I came back to work they dont anymore. I did nothing in between. I was on holiday!
Thanks for your help.
All the best

You may need to go nuclear.
Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to solve installation problems (adobe.com)

I have exactly the same problem with exactly the same Adobe apps hanging while starting on a MacBook Pro 16" 2021.
It happened directly after installing "OM Workspace", the RAW Converter of OM-Systems, the successor of OLYMPUS. This photo software has presumably damaged something wich is needed by the Adobe apps to start.
I tried to solve the problem by updating on Mac OS Sonora 14.6. -> Nothing
I logged out and in in the Adobe Cloud. -> Nothing
I deinstalled Indesign and Photoshop and re-installed it. -> Nothing
In between I did severeal re-starts. -> Nothing
I used Etre check, found some problem files, deleted them. -> Nothing
Next idea: using Mac OS disk repair. But I hesitate.
Thank you for your help.

Probably I have to delete a folder in the library which is automatically re-vreated by the system. But which?
