There must be some other problem with the font, or with your setup. I'm having no problems displaying a PostScript (Type 1) font in InDesign 2020 15.1.1 and macOS 10.15.6 (Catalina). See below:

Try a different PostScript font, or place it in InDesign's application Fonts folder.

Hallo LordRaven,

Uwe Laubender

Adobe announced end of support for PostScript Type 1 fonts.

I work for
FontLab, we make the eponymous FontLab pro font editor. We have also created TransType 4, an easy-to-use converter for macOS and Windows. A few days ago I made a video that shows you how you can use TransType to convert your obsolete (but still valuable) Mac or Windows PostScript Type 1 fonts into cross-platform OpenType PS (.otf) fonts that will work in all Adobe (and other) apps: https://youtu.be/j06_QuBwy7Y

TransType is a good solution if your font’s EULA or your local law allows you to convert the font to a more modern format, and of course if you have Type 1 fonts for which OpenType versions are not available.

Convert legacy Type 1 fonts to modern OpenType with TransType 4 - Quick into into TransType: https://youtu.be/_jwHfaUcEvE - An extended version of this talk: https://vimeo.com/669567085 from 12:00 Buy #TransType at http://transtype.info - it's $97 and we offer a 60-day money-back guarantee. Doesn't using a tool like this run afoul of most typeface UELAs?
