Hi!
I couldn't open a document my colleague had sent me, since I was working in an older version (18.5) while she had made the document using InDesign 19. I updated InDesign, but ever since I cannot even open InDesign without getting a notification: "InDesign is being closed. There has been an error."
I already tried checking my hard drive for errors, cleared my cashes and deleted/reinstalled InDesign muptiple times, non of those seem to work.
Can someone please help me?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hi,
Sorry to hear about the trouble. Is this happening while opening that specific document or now you're unable to launch InDesign at all? If you're unable to launch InDesign at all, please try resetting InDesign Preferences. If this doesn't help as well, please try the steps shared here.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
Resetting preferences is the first thing I tried and it did not work. I went through the steps... I do not use any plug-ins nor third-party fonts, cannot find anything regarding anti-virus. I feel like I'm out of options here.
Only after restarting my computer I get the pop-up that InDesign can not be opened because "a major error has occured", without stating anything about the problem. When I try to open InDesign again it won't even get to the loading screen.
Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks,
Wendel
