Indesign 2026 Media Poster Frame not showing

Hello, 

we updated to Indesign 2026 and are having problems with the Poster Frame of Videos not showing. 

Using Indesign 2025 it works just fine. Also copiing the link with a working poster frame in 2025 to 2026 it shows just like normal. Using the same video, importing it to 2026 and selecting the same settings it does not show the thumbnail.

Tested it through many computers, from a mac studio over a macbook pro to a windows. All have the same problem. It seems that the selection From current frame is not working.  

This is giving us problems because while exporting to pdf the thumbnail does not show.

Where are you seeing this? In the InDesign file or in the exported file?

I just tried placing an MP4 file here and had no problem assigning a poster image.

Thanks for the reply! We are struggeling directly in InDesign 2026 where we cannot choose a poster frame from the current frame. In Indesign 2025 it works fine. We did not export until now. I add a screenrecording of the problem.

Try scrubbing the video and then choosing. There's also a refresh icon next to that drop down. If that doesn't work, try trashing your preferences.
