Hello,
I run into a systematic error since I migrate to InDesign 21.0: when opening a converted 2026 InDesign document, if I try to right click on an object and select Hyperlink / Edit... the application crashes systematically.
I have tried to uninstall, clear my preferences (I'm using MacOS)... I also tried from a different MacBook and it's causing the error each time. Therefore I cannot edit my links. And I cannot downgrade back to 2025 since this option is not given to me.
Should I open InDesign 2025 and open the previous version of my document and accessing the Hyperlink Edit menu: no issues! So the problem is with InDesign 2026.
Any idea on how to fix this or work around it? My document is in 2026 format and I cannot open it using an older version of InDesign unfortunately.
Thank you!
Best,
Julien

I have found exporting the file in 2025 (the version it was created in) and exporting as IDML.
Then open the IDML in 2026 and see if it works better or as expected.
To test you could try a new document in 2026 and see if it is crashing even on a new document.
On a side note if it's not working in 2026 at all for you :
Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the

Thank you @Eugene Tyson for your message!
Unfortunately, even after using Creative Coukd Cleaner Tool I still can't access the Edit/Hyperlink menu on my files.
I have also tried to create a new Mac user session and install Indesign. And, lastely I tried using a different computer: the app crashes systematically on that menu.
I hope Adobe software engineers are reading this thread as it seems that the bug is with the latest build...

Can you share one of your files - minimal if required - to reproduce the error.
I just tried InDesign 2026 v21.0.1 and the Edit>Hyperlinks works fine for me - but I may not be doing the same thing to cause the crash.
That way we can try to narrow it down to why it's happening.
Thanks
For now you can use the previous version of Indesign that seems to be working for you - is that ok?

@Eugene Tyson Here's a one pager with a map that causes the crash. I have unfortunately saved my documents to the 2026 version so I cannot go back to 2025. The conversion tool is not working either. Thank you for your help!
