Indesign acting weird

Hello_Indesign gives an error and shuts down, when reopening it warns that it cannot locate the recent files. When I open the files manually the pulldown menus do not respond to cursor actions. Nothing wrong with the mouse. Anyone have a clue what is going on? Thanks_

You may need to scroll down far enoughto get directions for maually deleting the cache file.

If that fails, try running the cleaner tool (Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to solve installation problems ) then reboot and reinstall.
