Hi,
I'd like to use the photoshop document and layer name as copation for a technical document. It should look Image 1: filename - layer name
I can do it but then it looks like this
Image 1: filename
Image 2: layer name
Any ideas how to achieve this?
thanks
Alex

Hi Alex,
how did you get "layer name"?
Cannot see this option in InDesign Caption's function.
What if a PhotoShop file has more than one layer? What should the caption show?
Please show some screenshots of the configuration.

Hi Uwe,
I thought the Metadata "Layer" is a reference to the imported psd file. it is a refererence to the layer in Indesign though.
Currently there is no way out of the box to use the layer in the psd file in the Metadata.
Best regards
Alex

Hi Alex,
now that is clear.
However, still this question is not answered:
What if a PhotoShop file has more than one layer?
What should the caption show?
All the layer names? Only the visible layers?

Hi Uwe,
there is the possibilty to import a multi layer photoshop image in InDesign. In Object Layer Option you can select which layer should be visible in the graphic frame. I was looking for a way to use the photoshop layer name of the visible layer as caption.
best regards
Alex
