Hi,
I will have to install InDesign CC on my Mac mini M4. My system includes all the fonts installed with Adobe Creative Suite CS6, that I plan to keep for as long as they are supported by the Mac OS.
Adobe CC comes with a subscription to Adobe Fonts. Does this mean that the older CS6 fonts are ignored? Worse again, will they be replaced by the new Adobe Fonts?
When the CC subscription ends, will I find the old CS6 fonts still installed in my system?
Thank you!
Any TrueType and Opentype format fonts that are installed on your system will continue to work in CC applications. Additional fonts from Adobe Fonts can be activated for use in Adobe apps, but will not be available to other applications and are licensed for only as long as you maintain your subscription. They are not "installed" on your Mac.
Quck clarification, Peter. When you install the fonts from Adobe Fonts, they will indeed only be available for Adobe apps but if you open the CC Desktop app and go to the fonts section you can make them available system-wide for all apps.
This screenshot is from Windows but I imagine it's quite similar on a Mac. Those fonts can also be managed online for websites.

Thanks for the clarification, Bob. I was not aware they could be used with other apps. They'll still diappear, though, when your subscription lapses, right?

Yup! For anyone that doesn't need a full CC sub they can always sub to InCopy for $5/month (paid annually). That comes with the fonts and Adobe Portfolio websites. Kind of a no brainer to get the good extras for a very reasonable fee.
