InDesign CC crashing on launch

I've just downloaded the CC version of InDesign to my MacBook Pro but every time I launch it it crashes.

I'm running OSX 10.8.3, 8GB of ram, 8GB of disc space and I've tried trashing the prefs but it doesn't even make it to that dialog window. The UI appears and that's it boom! I've sent the crash log to Adobe but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or things to try to get it up and running?

Same problem. Crashes after launch. Already deleted 3 fonts that may be causing the problem, and yet the crash persists.

Looks like you only pasted part of the log, and we need to see it all.

That aside, just because you removed three fonts doesn't mean you got all of them that might be a problem. You need to remove ALL of your user fonts, then add them back in groups to test and isolate bad fonts.

Same issue here. Running OSX 10.8.4, 12GB of ram. Crashes on startup for me, can't even create a document or anything.

A few standard troubleshooting steps we'd like you to test out:

1. Recreate preferences: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990

2. Disable any third party plug-ins

3. Starting your computer in Safe boot mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455

4. Creating a new user account and see if the issue persists

I've tried recreating my preferences already, I have no plug-ins running. I'll try the others in the morning.

edit:

my curiosity got to me, logged in as a guest on my computer and it works just fine. Log back in on my user account and it crashes instantly still. Also in safe mode it's the same result, works on the guest account but not my main user account.

I can second JHammel60 on that. I have the same experience works in Guest login but not Admin.

Well I did step 4 and that didn't work. Did step 5, it loaded up fine and I was able to open a document. Then it crashed as usual.

When I go to load up InDesign now I get an error message saying "Unable to launch Adobe InDesign as you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Ensure that you have appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign'

Ugh.

I'm having the same issue only on Windows...both InDesign CC and InCopy are crashing and in the error report it says the ObjectModel.dll file is corrupted or incomplete....uninstalled programs multiple times and restarted the machine, but nothing seems to work.

all other CC programs seem to run smoothly though....

I also just tried installing InCopy to see if it crashed for me also and the result...yep, same exact thing as InDesign. Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, After Effects all work perfectly for me.

None of the steps on the thread above worked. Still crashes. So the last step is saying oh if none of these worked for you then you have to create a new user account if you want to use this product basically? Yet InDesign CS6 works fine on my main user account.

I had months of frustration with Illustrator CS6 and InDesign CC.

Repairing permissions as indicated by amxyz did the trick!!

I'm at the end of my tether with this issue, so eventually have to add to this post. I have tried absolutely everything listed in this thread, and others - fonts, permissions, disk repair, preferences, uninstall, log out cc etc... all with no improvement for indesign cc and illustrator cc.

amxyz, the item no.5. Reset the access settings on the user account's Library folder, has templates for 10.4.x and 10.5.x but nothing for newer osx versions. I've tried the 10.5.x commands with no apparent effect. Certainly didn't fix my cc issues.

A new user account does fix it for me, but I'm buggered if I'm going to go through changing my user account over for two badly programmed apps. Adobe, we're paying for these apps, and not charging you for our time trying to resolve your faults.

As you can see from the crash report I'm running 10.7.5. I'm reluctant to update OS as that will have many other flow-on effects of other things that then wont work.

I'm an Adobe user since 1980, tech savvy, but this one is really annoying me - worst issue I've had with adobe products that I can remember.
