The only time I ever had that happen was when I copy and pasted a text frame with cross-references into another document. The links could not resolve, and it tended to crash the document. How did your unresolved links happen?

Hi @Mike Witherell

thx for reply

the unresolved links happen after I split one single document in to several document.
after deleting unnecessary pages, some cross-references broke. after saving and reopening these documents, trying to remove links that are no longer needed, indesign closes unexpectedly.

at the moment the only solution was to save the indesign document in the IDML format.
in this way, with a little patience because sometimes it crashes anyway, I can remove the "broken" references.
I also tried leaving these useless references alive but indesign crashes when I synchronize the book documents.
