Hi there,
Indesign installed before a week on macbook air M2, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD, worked well till yestarday. I opened a file and suddenly spinning wheel and until today I did the follwing actions.
I removed all fonts, except system fonts, prefs, and recovery files, Uninstall Indesign, Uninstall All creative cloud and apps, I installed again the OS (Sonoma) and finally clean install (after disk erase). After the last action Indesign launched, but after fonts installation indesign crashed again.
I removed fonts again, but indesign is not working again. I am going to reerase the disk, but I dont know what to do with this issue. Please help!
I erased the disk again, and I installed Ventura instead of Sonoma . It works for Indesign also for creative cloud app speed!
Thanks

Unfortunately, Sonoma isn't fully compatible with InDesign - or vice versa.

I'm working with the same issue! It keeps crashing and I keep loosing my work. After opening again, there is no option to recover unsaved documents or anything.
I went to InDesign in AppData on the local server and found the file in the Cache but opening in Indesign wasn't an option and all other apps I tried said the file was damaged and couldn't be opened!

Hi @Sflick87,
Sorry to hear about the trouble. Can you confirm the version of InDesign & OS in use so that we can share the troubleshooting steps?
Thanks

Yes, Indesign 19.1 with MacOS Sonoma, with speed problems in Creative cloud app and Indesign crashing continously.
I went back to Ventura and seems everything ok!

InDesign works fine on my 2015 Macbook Air (8G RAM), but crashed every single time on a brand-new (today!) 2022 Macbook Air (also 8G RAM). This forum says you need 16G to run InDesign, but that not's true on my "old" Macbook. I'm running Ventura out of the box, and I see the warning about NOT upgrading to Sonoma, but why does InDesign run better on my old laptop, and not at all on the new & supposedly improved?

What version of Ventura? Anything below 13.5 can cause crashes so update to the latest 13.6.x if needed.
