indesign crashes when copying value in width field

Since InDesign 2019, when copying value, InDesign sometimes crashes.

No clue why. I removed the two startup script I uses, and it still does the same thing.

Any clues?

Try resetting your preferences:

Windows: Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
macOS: While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

I just did a clean install of CC2024 to see if the problem persisted. It did.

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

I know, but Creative Cloud Cleaner is better than just reinstalling.

Or you can try IDMLing - export as IDML, then open and save with a new name.

Are you trying to copy FROM or paste INTO the field?

Copy from. Strangely, pasting works.

What if you switch to a different measurement units? 

And what do you have set in OS?

Units doesn't matter, it will still crash.

What I do wonder is if I'm the only one to whom it happens.

Looks like it... And it happens from 2019? Now you are on 2024 version? 

Why haven't you reported it earlier? 

What is your EXACT configuration? Machine, OS, lang, etc.

I was lazy, and wished it would be fixed in the next version. But it never happened.

It's not broken. Because it's always worked for me. 

So it's something on your system.

Try starting in Safe Mode and only launch InDesign and see if the problem persists.

If it does - then it's something else on your system.

Well you were right. I finally took the time to diagnose this, and turns out it was the GoldenChaos preset for BetterTouchTool!
