hi, InDesign keeps crashing when I save a file and renames my files to 'Testfile981xxxxx....' It has been like this for months but it has got to the point where it is unusable! I have uninstalled and reinstalled it with no change.
When it crashed I get the errors attached.
I'm using a Macbook 15.4.1 Software and 16GB Memory, M1 Pro. I have uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign many times. I use idrive to save my files to, but have also started saving locally with no change.
Can anyone help please as I have a print deadline looming and I need to get the magazine I'm working on finished. Thanks

What's your exact InDesign version?
By "idrive", do you mean iCloud Drive?

Thanks for your reply.

It's been happening for months, but has gotten worse to the point it crashes everytime I save. It started off only doing it sporadically.

Also, where are your linked images located? Also on iCloud Drive?

I see. I wasn't aware of this service.
If the aforementioned troubleshooting steps don't help, try to package your file to your local drive so that the file AND the links are on the local drive. Will it still crash?

In addition, if this error message represents the actual events it describes, then indeed you'll run into issues when working off a cloud service or iDrive specifically.
This error may be caused by interruptions in your internet connection if it's not stable enough; or network-related problems on iDrive; or some kind of background processes that are running on iDrive which modify InDesign files one way or another, which causes them to crash.
Also, check iDrive sync settings. Does it offer an option where, while the files are synced to iDrive, they in fact are also located on your local drive? That is, in reality you're working in InDesign with files stored locally? If so, you should choose this setting. Common cloud services such as Google Drive and Dropbox offer this option.
