InDesign crashes while using special letters and character combinations.

Try it out and enter the following combination:

'test'- abc

Now delete the space before the abc once

No matter on which Mac, InDesign crashes immediately when removing the character!

Yes.

No matter what font you are using.
It seems like a bug of InDesign.

A couple minutes before I tried by using anydesk on a Mac from a friend and it is the same problem.
Also it looks like that the problem is existing since some versions now. It's not just in the latest version of ID

I am on Catalina, not on Big Sur. I have pasted your text in a 2020 and in a 2021 document. Unable to reproduce the issue.

Could be a bug with InDesign 2021 version 16.0 and 16.1.

One factor: Language "German" is applied to text.

We still have to wait for version 16.2 because of some bugs that sneaked into 16.2 like this one:
