Uninstall InDesign and then reinstall the app. Restart your computer and see if this doesn't solve the crashing problem.

Crashes it with any file or only with a specific one?

Did you delete preferences?

After crashing avoid the automatical resturation of the INDD file.

Save the INDD file as IDML and work on with that file.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing the version of the OS & InDesign? Does it crash while working on a specific file or performing a specific task?
