InDesign crashing & reopening getting Error: "InDesign quit unexpectedly in the previous session."

I am having issues with InDesign. I create a file, start designing - saving whilst I work and then 10 minutes in it crashes and this (and others that I havent screenshot) pops up.Screen Shot 2021-10-22 at 11.54.58 am.png

Yesterday I also had pop ups telling me that a different file i was working on was corrupt and that wouldn't save either.

Not sure what to do next?

I have restarted my computer and also reinstalled InDesign with no luck 😞

We're going to need some more information, I suspect, to be able to offer any real help. Let's start with your OS and the version number of InDesign you are running.

Also, where are these files stored? Local hard drive, Removable media, network?

  • Could you please package the document, including links & fonts, and share it with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html), Google Drive, Dropbox, or a similar service, and share the download link here or via DM. We'll have a look at it.
  • Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, plugins, or web extensions installed recently.
  • Submit the crash report by following the steps suggested here (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html).
    While submitting the crash report, please use the same email address with which you are signed in on this community. This will help us find the crash report and help accordingly.
  • Does resetting InDesign Preferences (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/indesign-preferences-support-file-locations.html) help to resolve the issue?
    Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings, and InDesign will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.
