InDesign crashing while adding a hyperlink in a document

Hi all, I'm having a bit of nightmare - InDesign keeps crashing everytime I add a hyperlink within my document so has halted all my (very hyperlink-heavy!) projects. Anyone else experiencing the same, or know a workaround? Thanks for your help in advance!

What version of InDesign? What OS?

Any other info?

Usually you can export to IDML and open that - resave to InDesign and see if it works.

Thanks so much for your advice on this. I have since found out it was a conflict within paragraph and character styles within the InDesign document in question, and have since found a solution... Phew! 🙂 Thank you for your quick response!

Sorry about the crashing. I know that's really frustrating. I would like to know if the steps suggested by @Eugene Tyson worked for you? If not, I would request you to please share a few more details along with details asked by @Eugene Tyson:

• Is crashing happening while working on a specific document or project? If yes, could you please share a sample document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link.
• Where are you saving the files (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?
• When did this start happening? Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, or web extensions installed recently.

We are here to help, just need more info.

Hi aimée-marie,

what kind of conflict was this? Do you have more details?

I'm just curious. A "conflict" in styles should not crash InDesign.
