Hi, there are 3 of us operating InDesign in my office, and one of us has a strange issue of setting up InDesign documents and the size of the page layout is not accurate in Document Set Up (eg. we have a layout that is 850mm x 2000mm and can see that is the case when we add a rectangle of that size to the layout, but when we go into the Document Set Up window, it says 840mm x 2000mm!). We have found this to be the case multiple times and we are always having to check projects created on that one computer, and copying content into new layouts on a different computer to avoid production mistakes. Very frustrating. It has remained the same issue now through multiple software updates also. Has anyone else noticed this issue? Thanks.
Was the size changed with the page tool either by input in the size fields or accidentally by holding the command/ctrl key?
When you use the page tool on a single page the document page size will not chance but only the size of this one page. You have to change the size in the document settings for all pages to change to the new format.

Thanks for your response. I did a little more digging around on the forum after posting my query and found others talking about the page tool. This may well be the reason for the issue. I will have to check with my team member and see how they go about page layout size changes. I myself have NEVER used the page tool to alter a page size, and so that didn't occur to me at all. The holding of the keys – that I am not sure about. Something I will try myself to see what affect it has. Thanks again.

It was the issue – the page tool – and now we have learned something new. Thank you.

Thank you. This page tool was the culprit – and we have learnt something new after so many years of using InDesign. Appreciate your input.
