Saludos cordiales.

It mioght have been true at one time that that document setup could not be used to change the margins once a document was created, but apparently that is no longer the case. Not sure when it changed, but it works in version 18.2.1.

I think I may have found what's happening, however. If the margins on a selected page are modified using Layout > Margins and Columns ... that unlinks the margin and column settings from the general document setup settings in the same way that overriding a Parent Pa

The only way to adjust margins after creating a document is by going to

One of the screenshots seems to be showing you adjusting the Slug Area - this is not part of the margins settings

------

You can adjust the Margins on individual pages - by going to Layout>Margins and Columns

If you're on a page in the document, like page 1 or page 10 etc. then you will be only changing the margins for that page or selection of pages in the pages panel.

To make the changes on ALL pages - you need to make that change on the PARENT page.

Then Apply your Parent Page to all pages that require it

I think I may have found what's happening, however. If the margins on a selected page are modified using Layout > Margins and Columns ... that unlinks the margin and column settings from the general document setup settings in the same way that overriding a Parent Page object unlinks it from the Parent Page, and while Setup can still change the margins for other pages, it will not affect individual pages that have been changed using the Margins and Columns dialog.

Resetting prefs, in that case, would be of no use.

Yes, confirmed.

So the Resetting of the Parent Pages to the pages in the pages panel is a way to reset them all and then should work directly with the Document Setup.

I didn't realise this was ever changed. Very unintuitive.
