InDesign Share for review comments disappearing when updating the link

New Here ,
May 17, 2022 May 17, 2022

I am currently working with a 102 page document that is shared with several customers. Once I make edits and I update the link, all comments from myself and the customers disappear. Even after restarting my computer, updating InDesign, signing out and signing in of Creative Cloud, the problem still persists. I am working on a MAC and InDesign version 17.2.1. This problem is only happening with one project file, and I've also tried moving all of the pages to a new document with no luck. I appreciate any help.

I have exactly the same since today, I thought it was only with one new document, but once I made another new one the same thing happened. Super frustrating while working in it because my client already put in a 100 comments I don't want to delete (again).

I know, it's very frusturating. I've contacted Adobe Support twice already and they haven't been able to help and now this problem is interefering with the project with my client.

I'm having the same problem and it started on 05/16/22. I actually watched the Comments disappear before my eyes while I was reading them! I've had this happen to multiple InDesign files.

Dear Adobe: What's causing this? And, more importantly, what's being done to fix it?

Same problem here and I can't believe I lost all the comments. So far it seems there's no resolution to get comments back, which means hours/days of labor lost.

I'm having my team add their comments in Adobe PDF. I hate that we have no direct number or representative to help us troubleshoot this or access our comments on the back end. But would like to share a link that I'm utilizing after receiving my team's comments via Adobe PDF: (https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/indesign/using/import-pdf-comments.html). I will update and let you all know if this workaround is helpful or if it takes more work.

I wish there were a way for us to track the comments somehow, and I hate to see other designers experiencing this issue 😞

Hi everyone, I alerted Adobe employees for InDesign about this issue in another thread, so please stay tuned for a fix. These threads may be combined by a monitor. I'm sorry it's not better news right now. Please see: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/indesign-share-for-review-update-the-link-delete...

Hello, it will be good to know if the storage quota for your accounts is exhausted/ unavailable, OR if the number of comments is large > 1500. We have an open bug to investigate the problem. So sorry for the trouble it has caused.

I should add, this didn't happen to me until my administrator migrated our Adobe accounts to federated accounts.
