My InDesing closes down when I try to export to pdf. No PDF is produced.
Also when I try to share for review the application closes down.
I have tried to restart the computer ansd reinstall InDesign. It did not help...
I am stuck. Any suggestions?

I see. I definitely would like to upgrade at some point.
Now I have to create a pdf to have my project reviewed. Everything worked as normal on Friday. All of a sudden it crashes. I didn't make any changes to the document except correcting one word in the text...
I solved it. I made a new document and moved all elements over. That seemes to have solved the problem.

Glad to hear your issue is resolved now. In addition to the response given earlier, you may also try suggestions given on this community post(https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/resolve-slow-performance-and-unexpected-behavior-of-indesign... you have similar issues in the future.
