InDesign v16.3 crashing while exporting PDF, making changes and saving a file

I am having issues with 16.3 repeatedly crashing every document I work on. Usually it happens after I have made changes and am saving - or - when I am exporting to pdf.

There are two designers on the same version and this is happening to both of us since the latest update.

Hi there,

Sorry about the crashing. We are investigating this issue. Could you please share a few more details like:

  • Operating System for both machines?
  • Does crashing happen while working, saving, or exporting a specific document? If yes, could you please share the document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link.
  • Where are you saving the files (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?
  • Is this started happening right after the update or after few days? Are there any recent changes made to your system after the InDesign update? For example, any antivirus, system updates, or web extensions installed recently.

Also, you may try the steps shared on this page (https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/advanced-troubleshooting-for-launch-issues/td-p/11394034) and share your observation with us.

Thanks & Regards,
Anshul Saini
