InDesign Won't Display the Document

When working remotely my document opens (from an external drive that has all of the assets) but the document itself is not displaying. The pages show up in thumbnail view but not the actual document page. What's up?

do you have multiple monitors in your other location? It sort of sounds like the page is located on another screen...
