Index - Any way to generate index from list of words?

Hi,

I am working on a scientific book and the client sent me a long list of hundreds and hundreds of words to have in the index. Is there any way to generate an Index with that list instead of having to put them one by one, which would be extremely time consuming?

I have seen older posts that mention scripts such an IndexMatic but they don't seem supported by newer versions of Indesign CC.

There must be a solution...

Thanks!
